Oxygen Analyzer Bench-top or Portable by Headspace

$2,700.00

Description

HEADSPACE OXYGEN ANALYZER-BENCH TOP OR PORTABLE MODEL

The Quantek oxygen analyzer is made in a high-end rugged metal enclosure for durability available in either a benchtop or portable models.

The analyzer is used primarily for the measurement of residual oxygen in gas-flushed (CAP/MAP) food packages.

With an expected oxygen sensor life of 4-5 years, it vastly outperforms other oxygen analyzers with a cheap sensor that might last 1-2 years.

In the Lab and on the Line

You choose - use it in the lab, or on the packaging line.

Due to its tip-up feet and form factor, the performance and functionality is the same in either portable or benchtop.

If you're conducting testing when the operator is stationary, we suggest using the benchtop.

Portable Model Information

The Quantek portable oxygen analyzer is a battery-operated, and it is used for the
measurement of residual oxygen in gas-flushed (CAP/MAP) food packages or other enclosed containers.

This hand-held unit can be used by non-technical personnel where you need it, in the lab or at the packaging line, or it can be easily transported to other locations.

The portable model is powered by Ni-MH rechargeable batteries, with typically 8-12 hours of operation before recharging is required.

Reliability

The Model 901 is a cost-effective, reliable alternative to other analyzers. Our proprietary oxygen sensor lasts 4-5 years, unlike competitive analyzers which may only last 12-18 months.

Combined with a lower initial cost, the total cost of ownership including operating, maintenance and consumable costs are much lower. When service is required, units are generally repaired and returned the same day as received to minimize down-time.

Easy Sampling and Analysis

The Model 901 sample probe is tipped with a particulate filter and luer fit syringe needle with side-port holes to prevent plugging. The sample is drawn through the probe and tubing and then to the oxygen sensor.

The pump turns on only to draw in sample required for analysis, and then turns itself off after the pre-set sampling time of 2 to 12 seconds.

Sensor Design
Unlike other units that require a new one in a year or less, the sensor in the Model 901 is designed to last 4-5 years without replacement. Unlike other sensors, it is not poisoned by high levels of CO2 commonly found in gas-flushed food packs.

The sensor is internally temperature compensated and will work in cold room temperatures at 25oF (-13oC). The sensor is also totally sealed and requires no maintenance.

Principle of Operation
The Model 901 uses a sample probe/syringe needle sampling assembly to pierce the package and draw a sample into the analyzer sensor for oxygen measurement.

The sensor signal is converted to per-cent concentration and displayed on the LCD screen.

The oxygen sensor used in the 901 was specifically designed for gas-flushed packaging measurements.

The sensor is a proprietary electrochemical design which is inexpensive, quick to respond, requires minimal power and has excellent zero and span stability.

Unlike zirconia sensors which are heated to 500-600oC, the 901 sensor will not crack when exposed to liquid water droplets and is unaffected by trace hydrocarbon gases.

HOW TO SAMPLE YOUR PACKAGES

The sample probe is tipped with a particulate filter and syringe needle.
Affix the foam septa to your package, insert the needle through the septa, and press the pump button.

Sample from your package is drawn through the probe and into the internal oxygen sensor.

The pump will draw about 5 cc/second from your package. The pump will run from 2 to 12 seconds and this time is easily adjustable using the controls.  This adjustment is especially important for packages of varying size,  or for rigid packages.

The oxygen measurement displays on the LCD within 15-20 seconds.

LOWEST TOTAL COST OF OWNERSHIP

The Model 905 oxygen analyzer is the market leader for durability, simplicity, and reliability. The initial lower cost, and longer life sensor makes it best in class for laboratory package oxygen analyzers.

ABOUT THE INTERNAL OXYGEN SENSOR

The sensor is unaffected by high levels of background gases such as nitrogen or carbon dioxide, and unaffected by trace hydrocarbons.

You can use the Model 905 for applications where the oxygen level is very high (50 to 100%) without overloading the sensor. The expected oxygen sensor life is typically 4-5 years, unlike other analyzers with a sensor that lasts 1-2 years.
